Engine 282 "Wetdown" Considered the equivalent of a christening of a newly commissioned ship or that of a baptism, the fire service celebrates the arrival of a new fire truck with a "wetdown".Neighboring departments are invited to bring an engine and spray down the new truck. This tradition has been lost in Madison county for many years, but we hope that we have sparked a new era of community spirit and support of neighboring communities.
